Ashley Tuthill McGrath is a wife, musician, and lover of Christ. She is the piano, oboe, accordion player and singer in the local band The Soil & The Sun. During the time I spent with Ashley, the band was in the process of recording a new album. Their record out now is called Wake Up, Child and came out October 2011. Paste Magazine named them on of the best bands in Michigan. Outside of her life as a musician, Ashley babysits for a family in town. She also creates art; she even designed the album artwork for her band. She is married to Alex McGrath, the lead singer of tS&tS and they live on Division Ave in downtown Grand Rapids. Their home is called Hoi Polloi, where they live, work, record, make music, teach music lessons, and host shows. Sadly, at the end of this week they are moving out of their home to go on the road for a while and take a backpacking trip in South America. Ashley lives a compelling life for Christ and is one of the most honest and kind person I have ever met. Following her around for the past few weeks has been a blessing.
